Am gestrigen Montag, den 2. Mai, hat die Jim Beam Distillery im US-Bundesstaat Kentucky feierlich ihr 14-millionstes Fass seit der Aufhebung der Prohibition im Jahr 1933 befüllt. Zusammen mit Matt Bevin, Gouverneur von Kentucky, brachte Fred Noe, in siebter Generation Master Distiller, den frisch destillierten Bourbon Whiskey in das ausgebrannte Eichenholzfass, um es anschließend zu versiegeln. Das Fass ruht nun mindestens vier Jahre in dem zur Brennerei angeschlossenen Lagerhaus neben rund zwei Millionen weiteren Fässern.
„History is what you make it“, sagte Fred Noe. „And, here at Jim Beam, we’re proud to make it one barrel at a time. This milestone is cause for celebration both for our employees and bourbon fans around the globe. Fourteen million is a big number, and it says a lot about the success of our whiskey and the growing passion for bourbon around the world.“
