Für das mittlerweile fünfte Kapitel der The Harmony Collection ist die The Macallan Distillery in der schottischen Speyside eine Kooperation mit Jing Tea eingegangen. Das Resultat ist der limitierte The Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea.
Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea
Wie der Name bereits verrät, diente Jings Phoenix Honey Orchid Oolong Tea aus dem Phoenix Gebirge in Guangdong in China als Inspiration für diese Limited Edition. Vor dem Hintergrund der Symbiose von Whisky und Tee entwickelte das The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team einen Single Malt Scotch Whisky mit primärer Reifung in Ex-Sherry-Casks aus amerikanischer und aus europäischer Eiche. Außerdem ist die Rede von einem „subtilen“ Anteil Ex-Bourbon-Casks. Eine Altersangabe existiert nicht. Abgefüllt wurde mit einem Alkoholvolumen von 43,9 Prozent, ohne Kältefiltration und ohne Farbstoff. Der Umfang der Limitierung wird nicht präzisiert.

Die Tasting-Notes beschreiben den Geruch des gold- bis bernsteinfarbenen The Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea mit frischen Pfirsichen, Aprikosen, floralem Honig, tropischen Früchten, Toffee und süßem Eichenholz. Am Gaumen Pfirsich in Sirup, warme Zitrusnoten, florale Nuancen und zarte Blätter-Adstringenz. Der Abgang sei fruchtig, süß und komplex.

Der The Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea wird in Kürze in unbekanntem Umfang den deutschen Fachhandel erreichen. Die unverbindliche Preisempfehlung wird bei 169,90 Euro für die 0,7-l-Flasche inklusive Geschenkverpackung liegen.
