Nach zuletzt Italien und Ungarn soll der von den Kanaren stammende Macaronesian Gin nun auch in Deutschland durchstarten. Zu Jahresbeginn hat der spanische Distributor Varma dafür eine exklusive Vertriebsvereinbarung mit Wein Wolf geschlossen.
Distilled Gin von den Kanaren
Der Macaronesian Gin ist ein den kanarischen Inseln gewidmeter Distilled Gin der Destilería Santa Cruz de Tenerife auf Teneriffa. Den Angaben nach stoßen in einer Kombination aus Destillation, Infusion und Aromatisierung neben Wacholderbeeren auch aus den immergrünen Wäldern der Kanaren stammende Botanicals wie Kardamom, Angelikawurzel, Süßholz und Orangen- sowie Zitronenschale auf einen neutralen Getreidealkohol und lokal durch Vulkangestein gefiltertes Regenwasser. Das Alkoholvolumen wird bei 37,5 Prozent eingestellt. Unklar ist, ob eine Nachsüßung erfolgt.
