Die Scapa Distillery hat das erste Mal in ihrer 130-jährigen Geschichte ihre Tore für Besucher geöffnet. Das neue vom Unternehmen Chivas Brothers errichtete Besucherzentrum lädt ab sofort Connaisseure und Touristen in die Brennerei auf der größten der Orkney-Inseln am Meeresbecken Scapa Flow im Norden Schottlands. In einer Tour entdecken die Besucher die traditionellen Herstellungsverfahren, die zwei „Lomond“-Kupferbrennblasen und das Lagerhaus. Ebenfalls Bestandteil der Tour ist die Verkostung des Scapa 16 Jahre, der direkt im Geschenkeshop des Besucherzentrums erworben werden kann.

Caroline Mitchell, Visitor Centres Manager für Chivas Brothers, sagt: „We are very excited to be able to offer Scotch aficionados, locals and tourists alike the chance to immerse themselves in the Scapa experience for the first time.
