Der Sieger von The Vero Bartender 2022 by Amaro Montenegro ist ermittelt. Ruben Sudmeier, Head Bartender der „Café Niebla Bar“ im spanischen Salamanca, konnte das am 26. Oktober in Bologna ausgetragene Weltfinale der Cocktail Competition für sich entscheiden. Den Sieg holte sich der Barprofi mit seiner Kreation „Wanderer“, die nach dem diesjährigen Motto „Sharing the Essence“ von einer Reise erzählt. Auf die Plätze zwei und drei wählte die Experten-Jury um Matteo Bonoli, Master Herbalist für Amaro Montenegro, Mia Kumari aus der „The American Bar“ im The Savoy in London in Großbritannien und Simone Corsini aus dem The Four Seasons in Florenz in Italien.
Matteo Bonoli, Master Herbalist für Amaro Montenegro, sagt: „The quality of the competition this year was simply outstanding and it was a tough task to decide on a winner. Ruben however delivered an incredible presentation and story and his cocktail was the perfect mix of balance of flavours and enhancement of Amaro Montenegro’s qualities. It was a well balanced cocktail with a deep and robust note of Irish Whiskey and a sharp yet pleasant sourness from the balsamic vinegar that completes the complex aroma of Amaro Montenegro. Sweet pistachio notes round the overall taste. A great cocktail to be enjoyed at the aperitivo time and after dinner.“

Belohnt wird Ruben Sudmeier mit einer Reise zum BCB Brooklyn 2023 an der Seite von Amaro Montenegro Global Brand Ambassador Rudi Carraro. Der Gegenwert der Reise soll 6000 US-Dollar betragen.
